1) decreases number of blocks for interest accrual to 1 in order to parse through all the open leverage LP positions at the rate of 5 positions per block
2) decrease the max leverage for leverage LP from 5x to 3x in order to stay conservative while making sure the pools function smoothly

24 | Introducing a Takers Fee - A Road to Deflationary Dynamics for ElysThis governance proposal is a text proposal that introduces the concept of a takers fee, a mechanism widely used in centralized exchanges (CEXs) and some decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to enhance tokenomics and protocol sustainability.
What is a Takers Fee?
A takers fee is a transactional fee applied to trades executed on the platform. In this context, it would be applied to:
All spot swaps on the Elys DEX
Perpetual contracts
Single-sided liquidity additions
Leverage LP positions
The proposed initial takers fee is 0.1%, adjustable by governance, ensuring flexibility to adapt the parameter to evolving market conditions.
How does this benefit Elys?
The collected takers fee will be automatically used to buy ELYS tokens on the open market (via the Elys DEX). These purchased tokens will then be sent to a burner wallet, permanently removing them from circulation. This mechanism creates a deflationary pressure on ELYS, reducing the token supply over time.
Key Features of the Takers Fee Mechanism:
Deflationary Tokenomics
As trading activity on the Elys DEX increases, more ELYS tokens will be bought and burned, contributing to a reduction in circulating supply.
This creates direct value accrual for ELYS holders and aligns incentives across the ecosystem.
Governance-Controlled Flexibility
The takers fee parameter will be governance-adjustable, allowing us to calibrate the fee rate based on the evolving needs of the protocol and market.
Front-Running and MEV Mitigation
The buyback and burn process will occur within the same block as the takers fee collection. This eliminates opportunities for frontrunning or MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) attacks, ensuring a secure and efficient mechanism.
Why Implement a Takers Fee?
The introduction of this takers fee is part of a long-term strategy to enhance the utility and sustainability of the Elys ecosystem.
By tying protocol activity directly to tokenomics, we:
Create a deflationary dynamic that rewards ecosystem participants.
Encourage trading volume and liquidity growth, boosting the utility of the DEX and its associated products.
We believe this initiative represents a significant step toward building a sustainable, high-value DeFi platform while strengthening the ELYS tokenomics.
Vote YES if you would support the introduction of a takers fee
Vote No if you donβt. | Passed | Feb 15, 2025Ended | Unknown |

20 | Update Max Interest Rate for USDC stable stake poolThis proposal changes the maximum interest rate to borrow from the USDC stable stake pool from 17% to 30%. The above parameter change will apply to new positions in the USDC pools and is a way to incentivize stakers to add to the USDC staking pool. Since the bootstrapping incentives for the AMM pools are significantly large, even with the increase of the max interest rate, it still looks attractive to borrow from USDC stable stake pool and add leverage LP.At a later stage as bootstrapping incentives are lowered, we would look to move it lower with the rest of the amm incentives as well. | Passed | Jan 25, 2025Ended | Msg Update Params |
19 | Update max Leverage LP percentage per poolThis proposal also changes the maximum allowed percentage of leverage LP per SSP to 35% from 60%. The above parameter change will apply to new positions in the enabled SSP and is a way to be conservative in order to allow seamless trading in the pools. As the TVL in the pools increase and trading activity increases, governance can decide if it would like to be more agressive with leverage LP positions at a later date. | Passed | Jan 23, 2025Ended | Msg Update Params |
